Maternity Coordintation

As of November 1, 2019, Community Medical Center will no longer be providing obstetrical delivery services. Primary care physicians will assist pregnant women with selecting an obstetrical delivering physician and facility. CMC has developed partnerships with OB/GYN specialists in Hiawatha, KS, St. Joseph, MO, Lincoln, NE and Omaha, NE for safe quality care for mother and newborn. CMC provides a nurse coordinator to assist in the process. For questions regarding pregnancy or delivery, please consult with your primary care physician.

Community Medical Center to Cease Delivering Babies in November

“Effective November 1, Community Medical Center (Falls City, NE) will continue to provide prenatal and postnatal care but will no longer deliver babies at its facility,” announced Ryan Larsen, hospital CEO. “We are fully committed to mothers and newborns in our community and though we will no longer have routine deliveries at CMC after that date, we are partnering with outstanding OB physicians and facilities to ensure continuity for women that are now pregnant, as well as to support those that will become pregnant in future years. Our local physicians and hospital will continue to provide prenatal care and testing even after November 1, collaborating with practices and hospitals in Hiawatha, Lincoln, St. Joseph and Omaha for deliveries. Our goal for healthy mothers and babies remains the same, even if they no longer deliver here.”
